From tell us what to do to a years-long partnership
We used B Corp as a framework to guide SUITSUIT's sustainability efforts. This resulted in a long list of projects and a years-long cooperation that doesn't seem to end soon.
10 projects, in order
Each one grew out of the last. This is what a long engagement actually looks like.
Scope 1, 2 and 3 baseline
First organisational footprint calculations, using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. We have repeated the analysis yearly ever since, to track progress. We compensate our scope 1 and 2 emissions every year.
Baseline setLCA
Developed a dynamic product impact model (LCA) that the team uses to make real-life changes to their products, to reduce their footprint.
Life cycle analysis toolResponsibility report
We co-created SUITSUIT’s very first impact report, together with the team.
First responsibility reportParis-aligned reduction targets
We set 1.5 degrees celsius aligned carbon reduction targets.
Reduction targetsClimate action plan
We added a module to the greenhouse gas model with which various reduction scenarios can be compared.
Climate action planSocial changes
We helped implement a long list of social improvements: free acces to OpenUp psychologists for employees, yearly employee satisfaction surveys, internal code of conducts, a sustainable purpose, et cetera.
Social improvementsB Corp
New Alchemists led SUITSUIT to their B Corp Certification.
B Corp certificationFoundation
We helped set up the SUITSUIT Foundation, including a 10% profit pledge. The funds are used to empower women worldwide.
SUITSUIT FoundationFootprint transparency
Using New Alchemists' LCA-model, we calculated the entire impact of the new Mystique collection, and publish it transparently on the SUITSUIT website. Also, this collection is completely CO2-compensated.
B Corp recertification under new standards
In 2027, SUITSUIT's recertification is due, under the new, stricter rules. We are currently preparing for this.
They helped us become a B Corp, they do our annual greenhouse gas accounting and they help us make our products more sustainable through their product impact tool.

How it actually went
Written by the person who did the work, not by marketing.

SUITSUIT's director Emile literally said to us: take us by the hand and tell us what to do. As sustainability all-rounders, we were right at home at SUITSUIT.
We chose to follow B Corp's framework. Not per se to get certified, but to give our sustainability journey direction. In the end, we did get the certification: a reward for the hard work.
B Corp Certification
In 2024, SUITSUIT was rewarded with their B Corp Certification. Proof of their outstanding performance on social and environmental sustainability.
Strategy from A to Z
We decided to aim for the highest and set very ambitious targets on all facets. We were responsible for both the strategy, as well as implementation.
Implementation
A small selection of things we did for SUITSUIT: yearly greenhouse gas accounting, dynamic LCA-models, materiality assessment, improved worker conditions, better recycling of end-of-life products, product footprint transparency, yearly responsibility reporting, a foundation, and much more.
Internal activation and empowerment
We didn't work in isolation. We worked closely with SUITSUIT colleagues, transferring our knowledge on the go. We built our models in such a way that the teams could take over ownership.
Onboarding sustainability manager
A sustainability manager was promoted within the company. We helped train her.
Other long-running relationships

Maxine and Nina started working for OLX when they were still consultants at Rebel. Six years later, OLX Group is still with us. Client Ana: "I'll keep you on retainer forever."

Bugaboo acquired Joolz, and inherited Maxine along the way. She's now helping them prepare for B Corp under the new 2025 standards, and migrating LCA data from her Joolz days to measure the product footprint across 40+ strollers and accessories.

De Bonte Koe has always had sustainability in their minds, but B Corp certification kept getting pushed aside. When their pistachio bar went viral and the team hit full capacity, we stepped in to get them over the finish line.
